Push Start.

Remembering that coding bootcamp is just the first step.

Eighteen weeks into my Technigo bootcamp and I am starting to feel the imposter syndrome hard. Those familiar questions of self doubt start floating around the back of my head as I work. Do I actually remember javascript? How did React work again… why isn’t this deploying properly? Did I choose wrong?

It’s easy to forget that it’s only been EIGHTEEN weeks with all these thoughts. That’s not a lot of time to be absorbing so much information.

Just the Start 🕹️

I have to remember that this is just the START of my journey, it doesn’t magically come to an end after the bootcamp ends unless I give up.

Remember WHY ❔

I chose Technigo because I wanted a place to start, so that I could figure out where to go from there. I wasn’t sure where to begin when I decided to learn front end development but now I have been given the map, now it’s up to me to find the right paths to take.

The Small Victories🏆

It’s important to remember the small victories as well as the bigger ones. Eighteen weeks ago I didn’t even KNOW what flexbox, React, or Redux was. I am so much more comfortable with Github now and I’ve started teaching myself how to work in Linux. Every little victory counts!

Accept Failure 💔

Failure is okay, it’s ok to not make a project deadline because I struggled with the concept. I will learn more through my failures than I ever will from my successes. Failure is necessary to grow from.

NEVER Give Up!💪💻

As long as I keep pushing forward, no matter my insecurities, I will continue to learn and improve.

Remember to be kind to yourself during these kinds of journeys. It’s ok if you don’t understand something yet, it’s ok to take longer to understand. Just don’t give up, because when we do then it truely is…
